The ministry of detainees has stressed on the importance of delivering the voice of the Palestinian detainees on hunger strike to the outside world, noting that the international silence toward their case is a kind of complicity with the occupation forces to humiliate the prisoners and undermine their will.
This came during a solidarity symposium that was organized by the ministry in coordination with Muhjat AlQuds foundation on Thursday in the Ministry of Detainees’ hall with the attendance of national and Islamic forces committee, some notables, freed prisoners, and prisoners’ families.
Saber Abu Karsh, Director-General of Media and Public Relations, indicated that the international community is responsible of the suffering of our prisoners on hunger strike because of its silence about what is happening to them inside the prisons. He called upon international human rights institutions to not use double standards and to expose the policy of the Zionist entity.
Abu karsh also assured that the occupation is fully responsible for the life of the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who has been on strike for the 101days in a row, and the prisoner Louay Al-Ashqar, who has been on a strike for 46 days, in light of its refusal and insistence on keeping them in administrative detention.
In a related context, Dr. Ahmed al-Mudallal, a leader in the Islamic Jihad Movement, stressed the need for these events and activities to continue and to escalate and expand to include all regions of the country, calling for interaction with the issue of prisoners, and participation in exposing the occupation to show its ugliness and its violations against the prisoners.
He also sent a message to the international community and human rights organizations about the need to act urgently and work to rescue the prisoners on hunger strike.
In turn, the freed prisoner Ayman Al-Sharawneh spoke about the stages that the prisoner goes through during his hunger strike and how he challenges the arrogance of the jailer, and about his feelings during the period of his strike and how he will win his battle against the jailer who seeks to break his steadfastness and end his strike by all means.
